What We Believe
Salvation means ‘to effect successfully the full delivery of someone or something in immediate danger.” Humanity has a need to be rescued. Picture this: you are swimming in the ocean and you begin to struggle in the water. A lifeguard sees your struggle and comes to aid you. At this point you have three choices. You can say, “I can save myself” or “I don’t need to be saved” or you take the hand of the lifeguard. Salvation has come by the hand of Jesus by the will of the Heavenly Father. God sees the struggle of humanity and sent Jesus to rescue us and in rescuing us returned us to be in relationship with Him. The Father wants us!
1 Timothy 2:3-6 it says: “I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. 5 For, there is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. 6 He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone.”
Humanity has a sin problem. Sin is a problem for every person on this planet. Through Christ forgiveness for our sins is promised. As Christ-Followers there is freedom that comes from this Christ-forgiveness. There is no sin that the cross can’t cover or absorb.
Ephesians 1:7 “He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.”
We believe that the Bible is God’s message to humanity. We believe in the words of the bible because they have proven their worth and truth. The bible challenges and vexes but we hold to it and we have no message without it. We are moved by its message and have seen it help, energize, and give peace to countless numbers of people. And most importantly the Bible reveals the desire of God: to be in relationship with humanity.
Acts 17:27 “His purpose was for the nations to seek after God and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him—though he is not far from any one of us."
